A nice copy of 328pp. 8vo, sewn binding in red cloth gilt stamped title blocked in blue. Illustrated throughout with b/w figures. Some light wear to the extremities and a bit of sunning at the spine tail, very clean and sharp otherwise; DJ tips worn with some loss to spine ends, horizontal tear to upper spine, spine a bit sunned, price clipped, now wrapped in mylar. Kraitchik was a Jewish-Belgian WWII emigre who landed at the New School for Social Research in New York, where he taught a class on Mathematical games and puzzles which formed the basis of this very popular work.
