Signed and inscribed by the author to his wife, 'For Anna w/ love, Donald Barthelme' beneath printed 'SPECIAL COPY FOR ANNE BARTHELME' in lieu of number or letter. 8vo, black cloth with green gilt stamped covers in kaleidoscopic pattern. Story first appeared in the November 1979 issue of Esquire. Edition limited to 330 copies of which three hundred are numbered, 26 lettered, and 4 bearing the name of a recipient. Letterpress printed by Grant Dahlstrom at the Castle Press in Walbaum type on Arches Mouldmade paper with illustrations by the author. As with all S&O editions following Isherwood and Oates, the slipcases were hand-made by Ralph Sylvester and many copies never received one. FINE. Item #503505
