[with Autograph Signed Letter] TWO LOGICS: The Conflict between Classical and Neo-Analytic Philosophy

Northwestern University Press, 1969. First Edition. Hardcover. viii, [2], 3-280 pp.8vo, blue cloth, gilt titles blocked in green. Some foxing, very crisp and tight otherwise. With publisher's trifold promotional pamphlet featuring Veatch's work alongside Frege and Moltke Gram. Autograph Signed Letter by the author on his personal letterhead to 'Bill' d. January 31, 1969: 'I am afraid that you will hardly find the enclosed to be a book to your taste. Still, I would like for you to have a copy, and I would hope that you might find it not too distasteful! Cordially, Henry.' We cannot establish but enjoy imagining the addressee as William Barrett, longtime NYU Philosophy professor and friendly adversary whose *IRRATIONAL MAN* provided the impetus for Veatch's 1962 rejoinder, *RATIONAL MAN*. NEAR FINE. Item #7121
